Hospice is a special concept designed to provide care and comfort measures, such a s pain management to the terminally ill. A patient has to be diagnosed as having 6 months or less to live. Hospice agencies can come to your home, an assisted living, or nursing home. There are also some free standing hospice homes. The team is made up of clinical staff as well as volunteers. This service is covered by Medicare.
